About this Site

The My Kidneys My Health website is an interactive tool that provides guidance and supporting information to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and their caregivers. The goal is to assist patients and caregivers to learn about CKD and help them actively manage their CKD and slow CKD progression.

My Kidneys My Health content is based on current evidence-based clinical practice guidelines (Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO), Canadian Cardiovascular Society, Diabetes Canada, Canadian Society of Nephrology and Hypertension Canada).

Development

The My Kidneys My Health website was developed by the Can-SOLVE CKD Network self-management research team in collaboration with key partners including patients, caregivers, nephrologists, nurses, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists and IT specialists from across Canada. The content included within this website was identified by patients with CKD and caregivers in a Canadian study. For more information about the needs and preferences expressed by patients and caregivers, please refer to our study results summary, “Identifying needs for self-management interventions for adults with CKD and their caregivers: a qualitative study”:
